Why we call it The Beta.
From 1997 to 2000, I was at Intuit, where I led the launch of Quicken 98, 99, and 2000. At Intuit, nothing reached the market until it had been through beta programs, focus groups, and user studies.
We hold ourselves to the same standard. We don’t release half-built AI into the market, and “minimum viable product” (MVP) makes us cringe. Every system we bring to market goes through real founders, in real businesses, before anyone else can buy it.
For years I worked as a fractional Chief Strategy Officer, actively growing ten businesses at once on an old-school model. We managed more than 50 team members and carried a heavy monthly burn, in service businesses that ran on my personal energy.
Our biggest expense emotionally, energetically, and financially was team members who couldn’t perform to our standard. We were drained.
I looked for a model that would let a visionary operate at that scale without carrying every business on her back. It didn’t exist. I looked for tools built for people who think outside the box. Those didn’t exist either.
I’m a futurist. I’m neurodivergent with insane pattern recognition. My mind goes far outside the box in an industry that keeps trying to cram me back inside it with someone else’s template and blueprint.
So we designed and built them and used them in our own company first. Today a handful of select high performers and our own proprietary systems run and grow our business. Now we’re transferring those systems into AI and testing them with founders before anyone else can buy them.
